Publishing Process

Scholarly Interdisciplinary Media for Academic Knowledge (SIMAK) is dedicated to ensuring a rigorous, transparent, and efficient publishing process. Our process is designed to maintain high standards of academic quality while providing a smooth and supportive experience for authors. The publishing process involves the following steps:

  1. Submission

    • Authors submit their manuscripts through the online submission system on the SIMAK website. All submissions must adhere to the journal’s formatting and submission guidelines.
  2. Initial Screening

    • The editorial team conducts an initial screening to ensure the manuscript fits the scope of the journal and meets basic quality standards. Manuscripts that do not comply with submission guidelines or are out of scope are desk-rejected.
  3. Peer Review

    • Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent for double-blind peer review. This involves sending the manuscript to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript for originality, methodology, significance, and clarity.
    • Reviewers provide detailed feedback and recommend one of the following actions: accept, minor revisions, major revisions, or reject.
  4. Revision

    • Authors are notified of the review results and provided with the reviewers’ comments. If revisions are required, authors must revise their manuscripts accordingly and resubmit them within the specified timeframe.
    • Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation or assessed by the editorial team to ensure that all feedback has been adequately addressed.
  5. Editorial Decision

    • The editorial team makes the final decision based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the quality of the revised manuscript. Authors are notified of the editorial decision, which could be accept, accept with minor revisions, or reject.
  6. Copyediting and Proofreading

    • Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting to correct any grammatical, spelling, or formatting errors. Authors are required to review the copyedited version and approve it.
    • The manuscript then undergoes proofreading to ensure the final version is error-free before publication.
  7. Typesetting

    • The final manuscript is formatted for publication, including the layout and design of the article. Authors receive a proof of their article for final approval.
  8. Publication

    • Once the proof is approved, the article is published online in the upcoming issue of SIMAK. The journal is published quarterly, with issues released in March, June, September, and December.
    • Published articles are assigned a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) for easy citation and accessibility.
  9. Dissemination

    • Published articles are disseminated through various academic databases, indexing services, and social media channels to ensure wide visibility and accessibility to the global academic community.
  10. Post-Publication

    • Authors are encouraged to promote their published work through institutional repositories, academic networking sites, and personal channels. SIMAK also welcomes post-publication discussions and engagements through comments and letters to the editor.

By following this comprehensive publishing process, SIMAK aims to uphold the highest standards of academic publishing, ensuring that each article is thoroughly vetted and presented with the utmost quality.
